The Old Dominion Cavalry Ride

The Cavalry Ride is unique to the Old Dominion ride and serves to encapsulate the ride's founding history from the very first ride in 1974 and throughout the decades up to the rides today.

100 miles, one horse, one rider, no assistance.

We acknowledge and salute the many riders who have taken and will take up the challenge to ride in this division, who exemplify the true meaning of "endurance".

Riders must declare their intention to compete for the award before the ride start.

There is no fee for registering.

Information and Ride Documents

PLEASE NOTE:  ALL equine entries in all our rides, without exception, are to be wearing four shoes, or an equivalent hoof protection (which include boots or glue-ons) at the start of the ride. The mountain trails on which our endurance competition takes place can be exceptionally difficult to strap-on boots, so we strongly suggest you might want to consider gluing any boots on.

All competitors and their crews are advised to please review the most current AERC Rules, especially if competing for the 1st time.

Thank You!

We thank you for your interest in the Old Dominion Equestrian Endurance Organization, Inc.'s rides

and hope that you, your horse, and your team enjoy yourselves at our event.

A massive thank you as well to our Volunteers and Sponsors who make these rides possible!
